The aquarium is a beautiful monolithic glass piece: it’s one continuous piece of glass with no joints or adhesives. This glass is non-toxic and recyclable.
The growing bed is made of one piece of bamboo: sustainable, non-toxic, and biodegradable. There’s none of the plastics and adhesives that virtually all other aquaponics systems use.
The bamboo bed is laced with Hemp Twine to hold the clay pebbles in the growing bed. Hemp twine also holds the Straw Aquatic Shade in place, eliminating the need for adhesives. Clay pebbles and hemp twine are both sustainable, non-toxic and biodegradable/compostable.
The Straw Aquatic Shade wraps around the back side of the aquarium to protect the fish from sunlight and heat, while providing the fish with a natural feel that they enjoy. The shade is made from stitched straw. The straw is sustainable, non-toxic and biodegradable/compostable.
